In 2022, in collaboration with the Department of Interpretation and Community Engagement at Pittock Mansion, I designed the exhibit The Thrill of the Climb: The Pittocks and Early Mountaineering in Oregon. The exhibition used the Pittocks as a starting point for teaching about the emerging sport of mountaineering in Oregon at the end of the 19th century. The Social Room at Pittock Mansion presents distinct accessibility concerns, requiring large-scale panels and labeling. The ombre effect on the typography references mist or fog settling over mountain peaks while retaining legibility.
